Did the churches have the same priorities? Did the churches have a focus? Etc. My evaluation consisted of Brooklyn Tabernacle, Grace Community Church and Hope Baptist Church. All three websites were very informative about the different ministries and goals of each church. Brooklyn Tabernacle is an multicultural church with an continual emphasis on prayer for needs from around the world.
Grace Community Church has been built on a foudation of sound doctrine, spiritual leadership, and active service.At Hope Baptist Church believe that “it’s all about relationships,” and their mission is centered around connecting people to grow in their relationship with God, with God’s family and with the world. All three churches were carrying out God’s Mission by Teaching, Training, and Equipping believers to glorify God through Worship and Service. Each church has God’s mission in mind an that is carrying the Mission around the world. Each church seems like a great place for anyone to grow in their knowledge and love of God through the study of His Word and fellowship with His people.Their doctrinal strength and devotion to God’s Word makes these church’s excellent places to worship. Grace is very traditionally conservative regarding cultural freedoms in Christ, which can easily inhibit gospel mission and openness to all people types communally.
However, the strength of Grace is their high view of God and their commitment to the careful exposition of Bible. Hope Baptist it seems they put more of their mission focus abroad and there doctrinal statement is strongly evangelical and well. Brooklyn Tabernacle church is a good place to grow in one’s faith and in their knowledge of the Word of God.They seem to have a good grasp on missionally reaching out to their urban community and culture. Describe what you have learned from these church websites and your readings that will help you in ministry now and in the future: First, I would like to state that all three websites had a abundance of information not only for the members but the visitors to their site. Brooklyn Tabernacle incorporated prayer in almost every aspect of their website. They offer those attending their services the chance to seek prayer for a need for themselves, to pray through a concern they have for others, or simply to share in giving thanks or God’s blessings to them.
Intercession makes other activities we perform-serving,witnessing, teaching, worshipping, disciple making, planning, leading-more effective (Earley; Gutierrez, pg. 262). In almost every ministry at Grace Church you find the word accountability. In our spiritual walk with Christ we need others to be there for us. Godly accountability is absolutely essential for those who hope to be all they can be for God. A group that can provide encouragement, support, and accountability is one of the most precious gifts one can provide to a fellow believer (Earley ; Gutierrez, 302 ).Small groups are an essential part to Hope Baptist ministry.
Hope Baptist believe that one of the best ways to make fully developed Jesus followers is through the small group. I have learned what ministry truly is by reading the book and evaluating the websites. I always thought that ministry was this highly spiritual exercise but it is the act of serving or providing care. Ministry also includes encouraging, sharing, teaching, discipling and witnessing. I also learned that ministering Christ himself means that the life of Christ must touch every part of my life. Ministry is the expression of Christ’s fullness to the world.
