1.2 Describe the duties and responsibilities of own job role. My job role it enable Service User’s to live independently, comfortably and securely as possible. To promote the opportunity for Service User’s to live in the community for as long as possible, by providing care and support to individuals and families. Please see below some examples:
1. To perform basic personal care tasks as outlined in the Clients care plan 2. To help prepare and cook meals if outlined in the care plan 3. To create and maintain good communication with Service User’s including those who may have communication difficulties. 4. To undertake housekeeping, household cleaning and laundry duties as requested if outlined in the care plan.
5. Administration of medication, to include checking and signing MRR sheets. 6. To provide the highest standards of holistic care and attention for residents. 7. To assist in washing, dressing, toileting and personal hygiene as per care plan. 8. To carry out instructions by senior staff in an efficient and conscientious manner. 9. To help provide essential physical and mental stimulation by participating in recreational and social activities with residents individually or in a group.

1.3 Describe ways to ensure that personal attitudes or beliefs do not obstruct the quality of work.
Values, beliefs, heritage, attitude and personal experiences might affect a
work place as everyone has different values, beliefs and preferences. It is very important to be professional at all times while at work as all these factors can have very negative impact not just on my clients, but also on my colleagues and working environment. My actions might seem to be correct for me but they are actually wrong for others. For example I might have very liberal religious views and I might think that attending church every Sunday it is not necessary, however my client might have strong religious beliefs and is a devoted churchgoer.
Therefore if I will not be professional I might impose my views on my client or not prioritise this aspect of my clients life while completing his/her care plan. As a result it can have negative impact on my client’s quality of life and also the person is likely not to be satisfied with the provided service. There is also a strong possibility of discrimination, neglect and abuse arising at the work place that can affect clients and/ or other members of staff.
2.1 Explain why reflecting on practice is an important way to develop knowledge, skills and practice.
Reflection on my own practice is important because it allows me to assess what I am doing well and to identify areas where I might like or might need more training or guidance to unsure I am performing to the best I can, and to meet all standards and expectations within the service’s policies and procedures.
2.2 Assess how well own knowledge, skills and understanding meet standards.
Reflecting on my own work is an important way to develop knowledge, skills and practice as I need to be able to identify, understand and change the way that I work. I am continuously assessing how well my own knowledge, skills and understanding meet professional standards by reflecting on my own work activities using the above skills and sources of support. I have reflected on my work activities in the past by reporting to my supervisor any issues after I have taken time to assess situations of professional boundaries and codes of conduct. I have contributed to, and will continue to do so, to a personal development plan on myself whilst aiming to complete my Diploma
Level 2.

Receiving criticism from my colleagues in a positive manner and using the criticism to improve my performance and skills.

Sources I can use to develop my skills are to communicate and work alongside my colleagues, Manager and other professionals by asking questions and attending meetings. I can also develop my skills with attending internal and external training or courses, team meeting and discussions.
