Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. is the world’s largest retailer, with almost 4,000 stores in the United States and more than 2,000 more across Europe, Asia, South America, Mexico and Canada. Along with its success, Wal-Mart also became the leading employer in the U. S. in 1997, with 680,000 employees all over the country; and as of 2008, the company employed 1. 9 million workers across the globe. Moreover, Wal-Mart offers its employees numerous opportunities to pursue their goals. In view of these, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. is not only focused in doing retail business, but also of growing and keeping talent within its organization.
